55 Day Challenge, 07: Have you told anyone your deepest secret? If so, what was their reaction?

“I don’t think I have any deep secrets. Most secrets I have are secrets because people don’t want to try to discover them. As a more private person, there is a lot I don’t normally talk about. My opinions on politics, news, people, and other various topics from art to human behavior I don’t share unless I feel comfortable that the other person would at least listen without a huge fuss if there are disagreeing views or, more often the case, the other person initiates such a discussion.

Most people are used to lighthearted conversation with me. It tends to surprise people when I talk more seriously. I often end up in intellectual conversation with a few friends in the midnight to 4 a.m. range. The topic I discuss the least is family or friendship issues. Of the people I’ve been the most open about those subjects with, they were very open and understanding and made me feel better because of how they stated those issues are normal and happen often. You just don’t hear people talk about them too much.

There are some things that people won’t share except with people they trust to not spread a secret. However, even if a secret is some opinion that is very negative, I think the person who shares someone else’s secrets looks worse than the person who had a negative secret. It shows a person can’t be trusted and also perhaps that if that person isn’t very fond of someone they’re okay with spreading a negative view of them. Also, opinions do change.”

“Mmm, deepest secret. Idk, I think I don’t really have a gasp-worthy secret. Most ‘big’ secrets that I shared we’re more like OMG moments followed by silly laughter. Pfft.”

“I was in the middle of writing a bloody scene when my sister opened the door and I started screaming until she was halfway in the room. I knew she was in the next room and that it was her coming in, but I was imagining a ghost coming toward me from what I’d been writing.”

“Oh, I guess that time that my dog stole some porkchops and I was so sleepy that I hadn’t even noticed and instead put the dishes away and thought that dad had eaten it. We found the bone under the table the next morning.”

55 Day Challenge, 03: Worst injury you got, and how you got it.

“In junior high, a boy threw a pair of scissors intending to hit another boy and ended up cutting me on the lip when it bounced off his target’s shoulder. I was reading a book at the time and thought that I’d been hit by a beanbag until someone came up to me asking if I was okay and I noticed the blood spreading on the page of my book.

The teachers took care of me, but the school wasn’t going to report it, so the incident wouldn’t be on their record. The boy only had to write an apology letter after my parents pushed the seriousness of the matter with them. Then on another day, he threw a pencil at me and started laughing with his companion, probably because he got into trouble for what he did and had to write the apology. I ignored it and completely brushed him off.

When my lips are dry and chap, that part of my lip chaps in the unnatural direction that cut made. The scary part is that your mouth isn’t that far away from your eyes.”

“So my worst injury and I’d say worse because I still have scars would be the bloody/scraped knee I had when I was around 8. I think I was playing tag or something and tripped. Unfortunately we were playing on this cement floor, so my knees took some damage to say the least. 

At one point, my mom wanted to take me to the emergency room because it really look that bad. After cleaning the wound though and some begging on my part, they decided not to do.” 

55 Day Challenge, 02: Who has made the biggest impact in your life, and why?

“I’d have to say it was one of my first RP partners who I had some of the best and worst experiences with. They gave me useful advice many times. I also learned how to deal better with certain troublesome situations from their mistakes and also my own. From them and our experiences, I also learned how petty people can be and woke up from the belief that people couldn’t be that bad and what to watch out for to less likely be tricked in those situations. These experiences through RP might’ve taught me more than similar everyday ones when it comes to social situations, perhaps due to differences in behavior with the additional feeling of anonymity and how we tried to work things out.”

“As cliche as it sounds I think my parents would be the answer to this question. The thing is that while their lives have had their ups and downs, one thing that they seem to always seem to do is rely on each other. While it’s also true that they don’t always agree, it always surprises me when they can admit when they’re wrong. The latter is something that I know quite a few people have a problem admitting. Besides admitting your mistake doesn’t make you any less of a man or woman.”

55 Day Challenge, 01: Tell about the best day of your life.

“There isn’t one best day that I can specify. I’d have to say that the best days are when the entire immediate family goes on a vacation or spends a holiday together, and everyone gets along and has fun despite different opinions and views. Something as simple as decorating the tree together and being silly about it or taking semi-random photos during that time. It’s just a great feeling when the family comes together.”

“The perfect day…I’m not sure if I can remember one specifically but I think for me it’s that day where everything seems right. No matter what problems there might be, they’re too far away to even matter. It can be a day that you spend with family and or friends or it can be just a day that you’re on your own. What’s important is that you that you relax and enjoy yourself, take the time appreciate the small things in life and be grateful to what you have and those that you’ve come to known and care for.”
